ford's newborn photos

Monday, June 9, 2014

he is a month old today and i cannot believe it. this has been by far the fastest month of my life, and i'm pretty sad about it because it has also been one of the very best.
ford baby is a dream. we could not love him more. i don't think babies come sweeter, or as patient. ever.
we had ford's newborn pictures taken when he was six days old and i love them. here are some close ups. that peach fuzz all over his body kills me. and his toes, he has the cutest feet in the whole world.
so happy to be your mama, ford baby.

blessings of the temple

the temple on our wedding day, february 11, 2011
i attended a temple sealing recently of one of my very dear friends. the sealer mentioned that vaughn j. featherstone had promised specific blessings to those who attend the temple regularly. i came home and researched this a little bit more, and i love what he promised. there is a long list of blessings, but these are some of my favorites:

it would serve as great "insurance protection" for your marriage
blessings of prosperity in your businesses and professions
unseen angels will watch over your loved ones
your family will draw close to the Lord and there will be no empty chairs in the Celestial Kingdom

your children will go on missions
your children will get married in the temple

my mom and dad have always been very faithful temple attenders. growing up my mom would go to the temple every week, and a lot of the time when i call her now she is heading downtown to meet up with my dad so that they can go to the temple together. i really admire their commitment to serve in the temple frequently, and i have seen great blessings come to our family as a result of their temple attendance. all of us bledsoe kids have served missions. we have all been married in the temple, except for alex who is still on his mission.
our wedding day almost three years ago!
i know that these blessings are real. i am thankful that they have been realized in my life because of my parents, and i want them for my own family!

2013 was such a fun year. it was definitely a year of growing and stretching as we adjusted to our new roles as parents.
*this is going to be really long. i should have started a blog a long time ago. these are basically all just phone pictures. we need to upload all the pictures from our good camera. oh well.

in january we went on a quick weekend trip with friends to lava hot springs, idaho. our friends had babies around dash's age and it made for a fun weekend.

in february we celebrated our second wedding anniversary, valentine's day, and my birthday all within ten days of each other. on my birthday i stopped eating french fries and drinking soda, it was a goal that i set for myself for six months. that was a big deal for me, i love fries. i did it!

in may we took our first vacation as a family of three to oahu, hawaii with our friends scott, kristi and annabelle haslam. we flew out of las vegas, and were able to spend a few days with paige and andrew there before our flight. we had so much fun with the peterson/lemmon families.
it was so beautiful. we stayed at the marriott beach club in ko'olina. we definitely want to go back. it was our favorite hawaii experience thus far.

during the summer months larry played in a softball league in orem again with his friends, and we had fun making it to some of his early evening games. we went to the park and to the pool so much. dash fell in love with the swings, so we would end up at the park all the time. we loved going on walks together as a family, and we hiked a bunch.  dash and i went to california again in june. we stayed in my parents' la canada house for the last time (they are currently building a new home in an area called brightwater in huntington beach). we love going to visit mimi and grandpa! we spent the fourth of july in utah with friends, dash went to bed before the fireworks.

in september dash crashed a girl's trip to new york city with my mom, sydney, paige and i. larry, my dad, brandon, and andrew went to denver for a broncos game at the same time. larry claims to have eaten the best meal of his life on that trip at elway's steakhouse. dash and i went to california again for a week at the end of september/beginning of october while larry took the lsat. it is always such a fun treat to visit mimi and grandpa steve. dash went on breakfast dates with grandpa every day and loved them. we got to see lisa and presley too!

during general conference weekend in october i randomly took a pregnancy test and it was positive! i took the test before a session and forgot about it, and larry found it later. we were so excited! in october we also threw a small first birthday party for dash with family and friends. dash turned one on halloween, and started walking that very day! he was the cutest lion for halloween and actually liked trick-or-treating. daddy stayed home with us and played all that day. we think dash knew it was a special day.

in november we found out our baby is a boy! we are so excited to have two little boys running around, i just pray that this next one comes with at least a little sense of self-preservation. larry started a new job at qualtrics and loves it. we also celebrated larry's 28th birthday. i surprised larry with a fun night away in salt lake city. it felt like our dating days. it was the first time we left dash for the night, and he had so much fun with his aunt sydney and uncle brandon! on larry's actual birthday he got the cookie cake he'd always wanted, and we had a fun pho dinner with friends. we spent thanksgiving in utah with the caughlan family and had a great dinner up at his parents house.
that's our boy!
very happy for a birthday cookie!
dash had a fever that went to 105 that night, it was pretty scary :( thankful for the priesthood and my husband
thanksgiving
we went to salt lake to stay the night spontaneously. dash loved all the pillows and had a blast

in december we went to larry's work christmas party, and i threw a bridal shower for one of my best friends, lindsay tippetts (wright). we went to the festival of trees, one of our favorite things to see every year. we spent christmas with both of our families, and loved being able to get together with everyone. my parents came up to utah for a long time and it was so fun to see them, especially my dad since we don't get to see him as often. we skyped with my little brother elder alex on christmas day, and loved being able to see his face! he comes home march 4th, and we are counting down the days.

2013 was a very good year. we were healthy and protected. we received countless blessings. we grew closer together as a family and we are happy! we really enjoyed seeing dash learn so many new things and meet so many milestones. we are so lucky to be his parents! we are so excited for 2014 and to meet our new little.
